Theatre Program, AS or AA

The theatre program offers either an AS or AA in theatre arts.

Vincennes University is a great place to study theatre for the first two years of college for these very important reasons:

  • We offer students a well-rounded theatre experince including opportunities to participate in productions.
  • We are constantly updating our programs and facilities to serve student needs.
  • Because of our open admission policy, we are staffed and equipped to instruct all levels of student interest and ability, from the honors student to the student just beginning to realize academic and artistic potential.
  • We offer on-campus housing.
  • We have a wide range of scholarship opportunities. The majority of those students who apply receive some type of scholarship aid.

The $16.8 million Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at VU features an 800-seat theatre that hosts both theatre program productions, campus events and touring companies.

Instructional spaces in Red include a scene shop for construction of sets and props, costume lab, lighting lab, dressing rooms, group and individual music rehearsal spaces, a green room and an acting lab that can function as an additional performance space.
