Registration Eligibility

Not all students will need to take the Accuplacer placement exam prior to registering. If you have transfer credit (grade C or higher) in college level English and/or math, a qualifying high school GPA, or sufficient SAT or ACT scores, then you are exempt from taking Accuplacer. If not, that's okay! The scores you earn on the placement exam will be used by your advisor to place you into the appropriate levels of English and math courses.

Accuplacer can be taken on campus, by appointment only, or through Examity, our "virtual proctoring" online option, offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information on testing options, please contact the VU Testing Center via email at accuplacer@vinu.edu or phone at 812.888.5404.

Not sure if you need to test? Contact the Student Success Center at 812.888.4451 or Admissions at 812-888-4313.

*Students who choose a virtual START VU option will be required to test before their advising day. If placement scores have not been met by the chosen START VU day, you will not be able to register and will be required to reschedule advising.
